But they really delivered a great hook in the last episode. I did think that maybe they could have trimmed a couple of the episodes off as it started to stretch a bit towards the end. It also offers a mystery with a thousand different pieces that really keeps the story going. Nancy Drew has some seriously creepy moments and I did enjoy the new mature and supernatural spin on the original story. And I think that there just a little bit away from creating a truly fantastic show. Which sometimes comes across as just a tad basic and a bit shallow. A couple of the characters acting is a bit average, but I think the main thing that lowers the show is the writing. The entire show is a bit wobbly, it has some really good parts and then some not so great parts. It has its issues, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. Is it the best mystery show out there? No.
I think to really enjoy this show you need to go in without any expectations and just take it as it is. The reason for this was that I went in with insanely high expectations. If you’ve read my initial review of the pilot episode, which you can read here, you’ll know that I wasn’t overly impressed with Nancy Drew. Young Nancy Drew makes plans to leave her hometown for college after high school graduation, but finds herself drawn into a supernatural murder mystery.
